ESPRESSO TAMPER
A tamper, but for espresso!
Summary
In 2022, I wanted to make a Christmas gift for my mom that would be incredibly unique and memorable. I settled on making an espresso tamper completely from scratch that would have a very distinctive style to it. I wanted to combine my machining and woodworking skills. For the handle, I sandwiched a sheet of brass in between a block of walnut and turned it down to an elegant shape. For the base, I machined a puck out of 303 stainless steel to fit my mom's portafilter.
