Work Experience

Nov 2024-Oct 2025

Product Design Engineer

TMS  I  Seattle, WA

Designed beverage and drinkware products at 50,000+ unit scale, optimizing 3D CAD models, prototypes, and retooling processes to improve manufacturability and product consistency.

Partnered with factories in China and Vietnam to accelerate product launches, ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery across global markets.

Directed 10-20 concurrent projects, reducing risks and streamlining communication by translating complex engineering concepts into actionable solutions for non-technical stakeholders.

Accomplishments: Identified a critical product flaw before production, preventing a 50% scrap rate and saving significant cost. Engineered a universal lid design compatible across all drinkware materials, simplifying manufacturing and reducing production costs. Developed a new silicone prototyping process, accelerating product validation and improving design accuracy. Created the company’s first engineering standards database, streamlining consistency and knowledge sharing.

Jul 2022-Aug 2024

Mechanical Design Engineer/Lead Machinist

Made Cascade  I  Seattle, WA

Manage contracted R&D projects spanning a diverse array of industries through the iterative engineering process by designing, manufacturing, and testing prototype products, then collaborating with commercial manufacturing suppliers to produce clients’ products on a commercial scale.

Accomplishments: Established the company’s first manufacturing workflow system—streamlining the fabrication process by providing alternatives to external machining suppliers—thereby creating a faster time to market for our clients. Over 300 individual unique components have been produced in the first 4 months of the system’s implementation. Redesigned a lightweight marine block for the commercial fishing industry to be corrosion resistant, reducing overall unit weight by 10% while surpassing a load rating of 12 tons. Met customer’s 4-day lead time in 3 days by completing the design and in-house fabrication of an electromechanical non-destructive testing tool for use in the aerospace industry. Redesigned hydropneumatic beverage delivery system to occupy a 50% smaller footprint, allowing for a more compact enclosure and improved thermal efficiency. Designed linkage driven dynamic vinyl record storage equipment, reviewed by Forbes magazine. Led commercialization effort by working with external supplier to produce thousands of units per month.

May 2020-Jul 2022

777/777X Production Support Engineer

Boeing Research & Technology  I  Everett, WA

Worked directly with mechanics, technicians, engineers, and other production personnel to design and fabricate complex mechanical prototype tools to improve quality, reduce safety concerns, and improve efficiency across the 777 build line.

Identified problematic areas of production, then developed and executed lab tests to establish root cause of production issues.

Regularly report to VP-level management and senior leadership on high-visibility projects and status.

Accomplishments: Saved over $2M for the 777 program in safety costs, replacement parts, and tool damage by developing a mechanically actuated tool to bend steel washer tabs in hard-to-reach areas—cutting a 3-hour job to just 30 seconds. Designed a large-scale piece of pneumatic-driven electromechanical equipment for countersinking composite and aluminum panels to improve wing quality, eliminate ergonomic risk, and reduce job time. Reduced labor costs by over $15,000 per airplane by developing a measurement system and shim fabrication technique that cut job time from 8 hours to less than 1 hour, while also improving production quality of the keel beam splice joint and reducing safety risks. Individually nominated for the 2022 Boeing Special Invention of the Year Award by Boeing VP, Willy Geary. Received 2021 award for Boeing Meritorious Invention Disclosure.

Jan 2017-Mar 2020

Machine Shop Maintenance Supervisor

Cal Poly Mechanical Engineering  I  San Luis Obispo, CA

Managed and maintained 92 pieces of standing equipment and thousands of handheld shop tools in one of the two on-campus student machine shops.

Developed a firm understanding of machine design after disassembling, diagnosing, and repairing nearly every machine in the shop.

Demonstrated leadership skills by diagnosing issues, determining the best individual to solve the issue, then delegating work.

Jun 2019-Sep 2019

Fluid Systems Standards Engineering Intern

Boeing Commercial Aviation  I  Renton, WA

Awarded Patent #11,530,762: Coupling Nut Visible Tightness Indicator.

Resolved a decade long debate about the usage of Scotch-Brite on titanium tube ends prior to installation of permanent fittings by analyzing thousands of data sources, running a test, and analyzing data.

Completed a 140 page report on an abandoned project concerning reconnectable hydraulic fitting tightening procedures.

Used machining experience to trace the source of leaking permanent fittings back to the machining supplier.

Aided in the development of a new fitting by providing design points for ease of manufacturability, providing MATLAB scripts to aid in component selection, and providing engineering analysis of a torque-tension relationships in reconnectable fittings.

Jun 2018-Sep 2018

Satellite Mechanisms Engineering Intern

Boeing Defense  I  El Segundo, CA

Discovered an issue with an engineering model for satellite deployment actuators, then researched complex rheological theories to write a new, more effective MATLAB script for modelling deployments.

Developed and conducted a test to identify a long-standing potential source of damage that could affect numerous satellite deployment actuators.

Designed and planned the construction of testing fixtures and non-flight harness assemblies for component approval testing.
